Labor and Delivery

To mothers, fathers, family and friends, it’s not just another baby, and the staff at Rooks County Health Center feels the same.  The nationally acclaimed facility features two private labor and delivery suites.

Unlike larger hospitals, expecting mothers will have a physician onsite throughout their labor and delivery experience and the devotion of the entire hospital staff from doctors and nurses to lab technicians and cooks. “We are fortunate to have Dr. Fisher, a family medicine physician, who also offers obstetric services including cesarean sections, and Dr. Sanchez, who is always available to help out in emergency delivery situations,” said Dr. Brull.

To date, RCH delivered over 20 babies since moving into the new facility just over a year ago.  “Three cases were emergency situations, and we are pleased to report that both moms and babies are fine,” said Dr. Brull.

“We could not have continued delivering babies as long as we have without Dr. Brull and Dr. Fisher.  Deliveries might have ended four or five years ago if not for the dedication of these physicians,” said Mike Sinclair, CEO of RCH.  “They really deserve an immense amount of credit for keeping this service viable.”

As one of the few rural hospitals offering labor and delivery services, RCH strives to make families comfortable every step of the way.  Complete labor and delivery are in one of two suites, which include comfortable fold-out beds for family members and private Jacuzzi baths.
