The governing board of Rooks County Health Center is pleased to announce Shirley Weisz as the Interim CEO.
During her first week at the hospital, Weisz devoted time to acquaint
herself with the administrative staff, medical staff and management team as well as formulate goals to ensure the hospital is meeting the objectives of the strategic plan developed by the board.
”I have high expectations for every staff member within the organization to continue providing a patient-centered environment where the patient is the core purpose and the most important reason for our health care organization to exist,” said Weisz.
Through her work as a consultant to small rural hospitals participating in a multi-state quality and performance improvement project, Weisz, a native of southwest Kansas, brings many years of health care experience to the community.
Weisz replaces Julie Price, who requested a transfer to the vacant CFO
position. “During my time as CEO, I missed the accounting and other
financial duties being CFO entails. When that position opened, I approached the board about transferring back,” said Price.
"The RCH board would like to extend its appreciation to Shirley Weisz for taking on the interim role of CEO and to Julie Price, who stepped into the CEO position three years ago when the current administrator resigned," said Jeff VanDyke, RCH Board President. The board is actively searching for a candidate to fill the position permanently.
