Honoring Our Physicians on National Doctor's Day

Rooks County Health Center (RCH) is grateful for the dedication and hard work of our four active physicians, Jennifer Brull MD, Lynn Fisher MD, Dan Sanchez MD and Ann Taylor DO, two mid-level practitioners Dana Jewell PAC, and Genny Robben-Rahjes ARNP, five specialty courtesy physicians and over 50 courtesy practitioners who serve on our medical staff.

“We like to think of every day as Doctor’s Day.  But, today gives us a special opportunity to show appreciation for the role all physicians play in caring for the sick, advancing medical knowledge and promoting good health,” said Julie Price, RCH Chief Executive Officer.

These individuals are more than people who care for our medical needs.  They are our friends, neighbors and community leaders.  Individually and collectively they play a vital role in the overall health of our county.  “Our doctors are a part of this county and a part of our families.  So, we want to be sure to publicly thank them for their contributions to our health and well-being,” explained Price.

The first Doctor’s Day was observed March 30, 1933 in Winder, Ga.  The date marks the anniversary of the first use of general anesthetic in surgery and was the idea of a physician’s wife.  In 1990, President George Bush signed into law a resolution proclaiming National Doctor’s Day.  Every year, March 30 is designated a special day for people to pay tribute to doctors’ dedication and commitment.

We honor all physicians, both current and from the past and express our gratitude for their continuing commitment to patients and exceptional medical care. Today, RCH invites the public to share in its celebration of “National Doctor’s Day” and applaud physicians for the work they do year-round to help Rooks County be a better place to live.
