Rooks County Health Center Laboratory

Few things in healthcare remain the same, and the hospital lab is no exception.  In the past years we have continued to be on the cutting edge of technology.   Rooks County Health Center’s (RCH) laboratory is a full-service lab, with state-of- the-art instrumentation to provide a broad menu for routine and STAT (immediately needed) testing.  RCH lab offers a variety of laboratory services to the hospital, as well as services for local and out-of–town physicians.   Patient lab samples are automatically sent from instrument to computer via analyzer interfaces.

RCH laboratory is Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) certified, inspected for compliance by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  This criteria verifies that the lab meets all standards set forth to perform its duty.

Patient Care Services
Patient care services performed by the laboratory include testing for newborns, pediatric, juvenile, adult and geriatric patients. 

Categories of patient types consist of in-patients and out-patients from the emergency room, clinics, nursing homes and reference work.

The types of services our laboratory provides include a wide variety of diagnostic and screening tests to aid in patient evaluation, assessment and treatment.  These areas include:

This incredible staff provides caring and compassionate service, recognizing that their job is vital to the accurate diagnosing by a physician.  They realize each patient and their families trust them to provide impeccable care in obtaining specimens, giving accurate test results and meeting the needs of the patient’s and other members of the health team.

Laboratory Hours

  • This laboratory operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Regularly staffed hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • No appointments are required for routine specimen collection.
  • After hours and weekends are staffed by on-call lab personnel for emergencies.
