Construction Update 2/8/07
North of Plainville on U.S. Highway 183, the site for a higher level of healthcare is beginning to take form. Construction of the new Rooks County Health Center started Dec. 26.
“Right now the excavation process is underway at the site of the new hospital and medical clinic. This includes building the dirt pad where the hospital will sit,” explained Danny Rogers, Superintendent of Construction from Cooper Medical Building.
“In about six weeks, work on the foundations will begin followed by underground plumbing and electrical work. In March, the building will have floors. At that time the building will also begin to take form as we erect the structural steel. In the next two months, water and sewer utility lines will be installed at the site,” continued Rogers, who will live in Plainville for the duration of the construction project.
“To keep the county up to date on progress at the construction site, we’re doing some construction of our own on the website, rookscountyhealthcenter.com. Soon, we’ll add a construction site photo album,” said Kathy Ramsay, Communications and Development Director of RCHC.
The new website will include monthly picture updates along with service updates and a description of hospital services. RCHC plans to have the new website implemented within the next few months.
