$500.00 Donation Received from the Midwest Energy Community Fund

The Midwest Energy Community Fund was established to benefit charitable, educational or nonprofit agencies in our service area.  The Community Fund improves our ability to channel dollars to causes most important to our local customer-owners.  Five customer committees, representing specific counties across our 41-county service area, review charitable requests and submit recommendations to Midwest Energy management for approval.  Each committee allocates funds based on the number of meters in the included counties. The committees can direct funds to activities that focus on youth, arts, education, libraries, community events or other priorities that fall within the guidelines.

Awards range from $50 to $500 and are granted semiannually. The application deadlines for the funding periods are March 1 and September 1.

Bob Muirhead, Director of Economic and Community Development with Midwest Energy notified Rooks County Health Center they had been selected to receive a $500.00 donation from the Midwest Energy Community Fund.  In a letter to Kathy Ramsay, Communication and Development Director, Mr. Muirhead stated there were many applications, and the committee did an excellent job of distributing the funds in an equitable manner.  Ramsay commented, “We are very appreciative to those businesses and individuals who support our journey in providing outstanding healthcare to Rooks and the surrounding Counties.”
