In the early years of the Auxiliary, we recognized the continual need for those persons in the health care field no matter their job description or job location.
All of the funds raised through the annual RCHC Auxiliary Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony fundraiser go to support the RCHC Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship Fund. The first scholarships were given in 1986. Since 1990, the Auxiliary has given 54 scholarships for a total of $17,450.
It is our hope that the gifts given to the Scholarship Fund by way of the memorial lights in remembrance of a loved one could very well enable a scholarship recipient in their health care field of study to ease the pain of someone else's loved one, find a cure for a dreaded disease or even save a life.
To apply for the Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship, applicants must be accepted in a course of study in a health-related field. We have been very strict in keeping to this guideline. For additional information about the Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship, contact Chairperson Shirley Comeau at (785) 434-2760 or 2769 or Committee Members Marilyn Simon, Ruby Mosher & Pat Sumerall. Deadline for application is June 15.
Since the Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship's inception, it’s safe to say that this scholarship has aided recipients in attaining their goals in health-related fields. Rooks County Health Center's district is fortunate to have many of the past recipients serving the area.
