Building for the Future

Getting Started

Since our current facility was built for the needs and economy of 1955, maintaining the standards to provide excellent care and assure that the rigorous recommendations and regulations that govern medical care are met, the Administration, staff and hospital district voting members agreed a new facility must be built.

After feasibility studies were completed, reviewed and a public 4-1 positive vote, it was evident that the only option was to build. The City of Plainville concurred and made an excellent building site available.

New Site

The new site is one mile north of Plainville on Highway 183 towards Stockton. The 33.5 acres is directly on the east side of the highway, which is more accessible to our service area and to our emergency care vehicles.

Construction on the new replacement facility began with a ground breaking ceremony on December 4, 2006. Click here to view our construction photos.

We are excited about this project and are happy to share our progress with you. Please check back often, as we will be updating this site throughout the project.

Capital Campaign

The RCHC capital campaign is a new endeavor for the hospital. We have never tried such an ambitious fundraising effort to serve our patients and their families. The exciting news is that we have received many gifts and pledges and are well on our way to our goal.

Patient Quotes

"It will be great to have a facility that is arranged more efficiently. You all do great work!"

-Palco Patient on Ambulatory Care

"We were treated like family. There is no better care anywhere."

-Plainville Patient

"I needed an epidural due to severe back pain. I couldn't get in to another facility for 3 months and someone told me they did epidurals at RCH. I got in almost immediately because they wanted me to be able to enjoy my vacation. Our hospital goes above and beyond the call. We are so glad you're here."
